Membership Covenant

Please look up each verse listed on this document.

I agree to the following as conditions for membership at the Evangelical Free Church of Los Banos.

  1. I am trusting solely in the substitutional death (2 Corinthians 5:21, I Peter 2:24) of the risen Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 1:4, I Thessalonians 4:14, I Corinthians 15:3-8) as Savior for forgiveness of my sins (Matthew 26:28) and the promise of eternity in heaven (John 3:16, 6:51, I John 5:12).
  2. I am in agreement with the identifying documents of this Church (I Corinthians 1:10, Romans 15:5, 6). The identifying documents are; the "Who We Are" information in the bulletin, our constitution and by laws (available at www.efclb.org) and the information in the "This Is the Evangelical Free Church" pamphlet which is next to the door as you exit the building. It is also available online at www.efca.org.
  3. I will promote the testimony of this Church by living a God pleasing lifestyle (I John 2:6, Titus 1:16, Matthew 15:8, Ephesians 4:1, 5:3-5)
  4. I will promote the unity of this church by demonstrating the various "one anothers," (described in the New Testament) to the attendees of this church. Please read over the following verses; John 15:17, Romans 12:10,16, 13:8, 15:7,14, I Corinthians 1:10, Galatians 5:13, Ephesians 4:2, 32, 5:21, Philippians 2:3,4, Colossians 3:13, 16, I Thess. 5:11,13, 15, James 5:16, I Peter 1:22, 3:8, 4:9, 5:5, I John 3:11, 23, 4:7, 11, 12.
  5. I will promote the work of this church through my financial offerings, (Proverbs 3:9, I Corinthians 16:2, 2 Corinthians 9:7), ministry involvement (I Peter 4:10) and support of the leadership of this church (Hebrews 13:17).

I understand and accept the responsibilities and privileges of membership at this Church. This covenant is an agreement between me and the Lord and is in effect of my own accord.
